The nut is hammered into the leg so that assembly is a piece of cake.

3d printed phone stand turned out nice.

Finished!!!! Will update with a picture of this on my desk with monitor.  Really pleased with how this all turned out I could not be more excited.  This would have not been possible without the help of Bryan.

Paint

Rolled on a fresh coat of paint

Spray painted the legs, making sure not to paint the threading.

Progress and cut for 3d model

What it looks like

Cut for the 3d printed phone stand
3d model for the iphone stand

Making room for thread rod

Inserted these so that the thread rod can easily be place into the wood.  This also makes it easy to make the thread rod flush with the top of the table.

Finished car

This is the final finished car for the group car project. I think this project in a whole made things easier to understand as far as assembly goes.

Project Update: Holes for the legs

I need to make holes for the legs, and to do that I am using a drill press.

I also used the oddly shaped drill bit in the center to carve out places for my pvc pipe to sit.

The drilling process was long but worth it.  I drilled a small center hole to make sure I could make easy drills every time.  After that I carved out the spots for the pvc.  Finally I drilled the finished hole in the middle.

Really pleased with the outcome.

Project Update: First Cuts

I decided the shelves were going to be a foot wide and thirty inches long.  This will leave ample space for the monitor and the phone stand.  I used a jig saw for the cuts making sure to take my time to make the cut look nice.
